How to find it

The Electric Town ticket gate at JR Akihabara is the closest. Take the Electric Town north exit, turn left, follow Atre and cross Chuo-dori, then take the street between Matsumoto Kiyoshi and the game arcade and follow the Sobu-line viaduct west for 3-4 minutes; the Uchida Building is the one diagonally opposite the KFC. The parts shop Hamada Denshi on the ground floor is the landmark, and the entrance is between Hamada Denshi and the screw shop Neji no Nishikawa - take the lift or the stairs to 3F.

Tips

• MONTA, the used, consignment and outlet shop, shares the same 3F, so you can check new and second-hand stock in one visit.
• The Akihabara branch centres on N-gauge trains, kits and parts plus 16-ban plastic models; 16-ban kits and scenery are barely stocked. Finished N-gauge sets are displayed as full train formations.
• It stays open to 20:30 on weekdays but closes at 19:00 on weekends and holidays, so avoid a late weekend visit.
• Besides cash and the shop's own IMON'S card, ordinary credit cards and e-money are accepted; only konbini payment is web-order-only.
