How to find it
Three minutes from Exit 3 of Suehirocho on the Ginza line, eight minutes from the JR Akihabara Electric Town Exit. Room 403 on the 4th floor of the Kiyota Shokai Building, on the back streets west of Chuo-dori - an office-style atelier with no shopfront at street level.
Tips
- This is not a shop with stock on the rails: you order through the free quote form and production takes about six to eight weeks.
- Prices start around 80,000 yen for a standard costume and 150,000 yen for a complex design, before tax, plus 1,000 yen shipping within Japan.
- An in-office consultation is a Premium-course option: write 'Uchiawase kibou' in the quote form's comment box to arrange a slot. Measuring can be done on the spot, and women are measured by female staff.
- Credit cards (VISA, Mastercard, AMEX, JCB, Nicos), bank transfer, convenience-store payment and PayPal are accepted. Because everything is made to order, returns for change of mind are not possible.
- Besides costumes they also take orders for wigs and for doll outfits.
